I have to organize my girlfriend's library since she has files spread all over her computer.

I want to delete the library files and start over, this time letting iTunes manage the library. If I delete the library file, open iTunes (with a blank slate), then add all her music back (letting iTunes make copies organized in the new folder) - will there be problems with the DRM protected files she bought from iTunes?

I would hate to import them back in and have iTunes think I'm trying to copy files from another computer and not play them.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Why can't you just tell iTunes to automatically manage the music. It should just move all of the songs into the iTunes Library location without any further work on your part.

It should not **** with the DRM, since the song is tied to the computer. As Lavar says - go to Advanced, and click 'consolidate library'.

Songs are not tied to any computer. Songs are tied to a user account. Activations are tied to computers, but consolidating the library doesn't change the activation. Simply use the command for this in the Advanced menu as described above.

Right. Thanks for the clarification on DRM. What I meant is that doing what the OP asked will not **** with it.
