Back when I was using 10.4 I had been using ShapeShifter and used the Liger theme. Since upgrading to Leopard, I wanted to remove this, and everything seemed to uninstall just fine, but the bottom slanted dock (fake one from Liger) and the transparent bar on the top (fake one) wont go away! Now its sitting underneath my nice new leopard dock and its driving me nuts!
Here are some screenshots.

im afraid of that. I've heard of some problems with the Adobe Suite of applications installing on the leopard.
is there perhaps anything I can try deleting or reseting to try and remove it?

If you do an Archive & Install there is an archive of your previous system. Hence the name. So you can manually copy /Library/Application Support/Adobe from the Previous Systems folder into your then new Library folder. Ditto with any additional fonts that were installed.

so I did the archive and install, however i chose preserve user settings option. When I logged in, it had all my old applications installed, and sure enough the damn Liger dock.
Sooooo. I made a new account and found that the Liger dock disappeared. Problem fixed. Thanks for the help!

For anyone else with this problem, uninstalling Liger is obviously not enough, but you should not need to Archive & Install. The ligermenubar and ligerdock are simply running and must be closed.
- Open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor) and in the processes list search for "liger". Two processes should appear: ligermenubar and ligerdock. Click each one and then click "Close process". After closing the latter you should notice the "Liger" dock has disappeared from behind the original one.
- Open a Finder window and search for "liger". You should see the two process names you just searched for - "ligermenubar" and "ligerdock". Control-click one of them and click "Open Enclosing Folder".
- Simply delete the two files.
This worked for me when I had this problem. You may also wish to delete any other Liger-related files that appear in the Finder search.

Second on that. I had the same problem even after an archive and reinstall. Just open up activity monitor and locate the files. Though if i remember correctly they should be in Application Support, in the Library.
