When I click on movie files in Safari, I want them to play inside the browser window, not launch QuickTime Player and show the movie there. How do I change this behavior?

Can you give an example? I seem to be able to play movies in Safari just fine. Also, are they QuickTime files or .wmv/.avi files that require Flip4Mac?

It seems to vary. Some of them are done via Flip4Mac, others are just .mov files. But it seems to me that ought to play inside Safari anyhow. I just tried unchecking the "Launch Quicktime Player" option in the Flip4Mac preference pane; let's see what that does.
