This is something that I've been waiting for many, many nights.
The mockup is horrorshow but the idea's there : access an app's main features through its dock menu.

Am I alone here?

please tell us, what might that be ? I haven't seen anything like this and I like this idea though the mockup isn't as good looking as someone could (definently) make it !

Horrorshow? In Clockwork Orange 'horrorshow' was an anglicization of the Russian хорошо (khorosho) which means good.

I think that's pretty good. But you'd have to have access to the traditional right-click functions as well, i.e. quit, hide. But having a big play/pause button would be good and easier to hit than the smaller menu selection.
