Ive recently just discovered all the benefits of using IMAP over POP for my email. I have the following questions I am hoping someone can help me with.

1. I setup IMAP in Mail and it downloaded all the attachments and everything even though I set it to just get headers. I even rebuilt the mailbox but the same issue persists.

2. Ive read some other posts on other forums where people are saying that mail 3.0 has some serious issues with IMAP, anyone know if its pretty much broken or useable at this point? Thunderbird seems much move responsive when switching folders etc.

3. The main thing I love about Mail is the pdf preview right in the application. I have faxes that come in as oddly named files and so being able to view them right there seems be a tremendous amount of time. Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to preview pdf's right in thunderbird through a plugin or anything similar.

I would appreciate any help and anything else anyone wants to add in.

I gave up trying to configure Mail.app 3.0 for my Fastmail IMAP account and went back to Thunderbird 2.0.0.9 -- just too difficult and I don't like the way Mail arranges folders. I also tried routing my e-mail through Gmail but wasn't happy with the overly complex folder structure, so I simply went back to what was working for me before.
