I wanted to share my screen with a friend, but the option was greyed out on both of our computers. What does this mean we are lacking? Is it both of us that have the problem? For the record, screen sharing with a VNC:// Address worked from me to him, but not him to me. it said that it could not contact my IP.

I have not done screen sharing - so I am taking a shot in the dark - but perhaps you forgot to check the box in system preferences ->sharing -> screen sharing?

Depends on the router. If it is an Airport, then open the Airport utilities and click on the Advanced toolbar item. There is a tab called Port Mapping.

If it is something other than an Airport basestation, then you will have to log into your router and alter the settings.

In iChat, under the Audio menu, do you have a checkmark next to "Screen Sharing Enabled"?
