Hello,
Whenever I go to create a mailbox in Mail, it fails unless I let it change my IMAP path prefix. I cannot change my path prefix, because my work account uses a mail hierarchy of several parent folders other than INBOX (e.g. "shared", "deleted", etc.). The IMAP RFC states that mail folders are subfolders of INBOX, this is the way it should be, so what OS X Mail is trying to do is rather unusual (and this didn't work this way under Tiger) and uncompliant.
Short of creating mailboxes in another client or changing my IMAP path prefix, is there a way to force the mailbox creation in Mail?
Mail is a quirky little app - awesome interface, but the backend seems like it was designed by a bunch of monkeys who don't really understand mail.
(yes, I'm exaggerating, but it really is odd the sorts of things this app gets wrong)
