Well, my new SRMB finally showed up and this thing is awesome! I don't know why I didn't switch to a mac before!

Anyways, I'm having some issues with torrents. I tried using both Azureus and Bits On Wheels, and the program loads up fine but they won't start downloading any torrents. They show up on the list, but never connect to anyone. Since the same thing happened for 2 programs, I'm thinking it's something I don't have set right on my computer or my router?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you checked your firewall settings?

I have not, but I don't know what I would be looking for - do you have to turn your firewall off to download?

I tried using Transmission, and that's working (not as fast as I'd hoped but at least working). I guess I'll just stick with this for now. I still wonder why one program would download while two others wouldn't?

Thanks

you need to ensure your router is forwarding TCP & UDP ports 49152 (or whatever you configure Azureus to use, somewhere between 49152-65535) to your computer's IP address.

also, even with that enabled, your ISP may be killing your torrents. If you're in the US, Comcast is the only one I've read about that does this. No real way to get around it, unless you can VPN to another network whose ISP doesn't do this.
