any way to go back to iMovie 06? I need help with '08

I have iMovie '08, and I must say, I hate it! editing clips is a pain!!! its like it only lets you trim beginning and end! If I play a clip, and pause it where I want to start editing, as soon as I bring the mouse pointer to the clip, it immiediatly jumps the video right to where the mouse pointer is, therefore losing my place where I had it where I wanted to edit!! This didn't happen in iMovie '06, and editing clips was much easier. what can I do? and when I try downloading imovie '06 from apple : Apple - Support - Downloads - iMovie HD 6
it gets saved as a quicktime file!!! anything I can do to avoid that?

The link on that page is to a dmg file, so you are either downloading the wrong thing, or you have a filetype issue on your machine.
