For those of you using Mail app with Sympatico, would you mind sharing your settings? Specifically port? And SSL?

It's giving me a hard time. Again.

thanks.

Have you tried these settings, from the first google hit for "sympatico email settings"?

Sympatico e-mail account : Help & How-To : Tech & Gadgets : Sympatico / MSN

2. Changing your account settings
In the General tab, enter the name that you want to give to your server. Enter your full name or user name in the Name field. This will allow your contacts to identify you. Enter your Sympatico e-mail address in the E-mail address field (See Image 3).

3. Changing your mail settings
Click on the Servers tab.
In the Incoming Mail (POP 3) field enter the following in lower case: pophm.sympatico.ca

In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field enter: smtphm.sympatico.ca

In Account name, enter your e-mail address again.
In the password section, enter the password that Sympatico supplied for your e-mail. Note: This is not the same password as for connecting to Sympatico. You will find it in the letter sent by Sympatico that contains your subscriber codes. (You may have already personalized this password. If so, enter your current password.)
Click on Remember password to avoid having to type it in every time you want to send or receive e-mail.

Check My server requires authentication (See Image 4).

4. Configuring your ports
Click on the Advanced tab.
Check This server requires a secure connection (SSL) in both Incoming and Outgoing Mail.
The value for Outgoing Mail (SMTP) should be set to 25. If it is not, change it.
The value for Incoming Mail (POP) should be set to 995. If it is not, change it.
