How do you synchronize iPhoto between two macs? Can I just copy the iphoto library and paste it on the other?

How do you store photos in the external HD yet able to access it in iPhoto? (Let's say the HD run out of space)

As far as your second question. Hold down the option key while starting iPhoto. You will be prompted to either choose a library, or create one. Choose create and create a library on your external. Then copy the library from your internal to that new library. Once you are satified that all is well, you can delete from your internal. When you open iPhoto, it will default to the last open library, so it will open the library on the external until you tell it otherwise by again holding down the option key and choosing a library. There are specific instructions on Apples Knowledge-based support.

This is how I keep my photos, and it works very well.

You can't really "synchronize" the iPhoto library of two Macs (i.e., changes in one appear in the other). What you can do is copy the iPhoto library of one Mac to another. However, changes you make on Mac A will not show up in Mac B, and vice versa, until you recopy the library.

I'm sure there is a complicated way to do what you want but I don't know what it is.
