Can i use iDVD to burn DVD's, if so how do i do that because my computer tends to freeze up when i try to do it

iDVD is for burning your own material.

I thought so but i asked a guy at the mac store and he said i should have no problem burning a dvd using that. How do i burn a movie on to a blank DVD?

Are you asking how to burn commercial DVD movies using iDVD, or how to make a DVD movie from material you've recorded from your DV cam?

Check out the Help menu in each of the applications you're interested in.

Contrary to your expectations (coming from Windows), it's actually a GREAT resource, and in the case of all of Apple's apps, contains excellent introductions and video tutorials.

i have DVD's that i have purchased but i lost some of them. I want to make copies just incase i lose one again.
