I have a movie from my kodak camera in .MOV format that I want to upload to Youtube. It's 174MB

When I try to upload it goes on forever, and eventually it fails and i get the message "connection to the server was reset while the page was loading".

So I tried emailing it to myself so I could open it on a PC and upload it using Youtube's facility that allows uploads of up to 1GB (which only works with Windows)

But when I try to email it to myself it fails and i get the connection to the server reset message again and again.

Should i compress the file?

How?

I have iMovie, but the movie is grayed out so I can't open it with iMovie.

What should i do?

What version of iMovie do you have? iMovie '08 should be able to open any QuickTime movie and can upload to YouTube.

Alternatively get iSquint and reencode with the H.264 codec.
