I'm a newbie; just bought Macbook with Leopard a month ago.
With iMovie and iSight, so far I managed to save video clips only in m4v and mov formats. I would like to convert these videos into more common formats, e.g. wmv, avi, mpg, that can be played on other video devices as well as Windows computers.

I searched VersionnTracker but unable to find third party freeware for converting iMovie video output into other formats. Would appreciate recommendations from experienced Mac users.

Both should do the job, or use Quicktime and pay for the Pro version. You can then open it in quicktime and choose FILE->Export.

There are other options, but these are all affordable and relatively easy to use.

Although mp4 is a common format and can be played on PCs or third party portable devices.
