Tried to find it on the net, even bought a book from B&N about Mac OSX but still can't find how to save a certain files or download them from Safari.

Ex: in window if you want to download or save some thing, you right hand click and you can have the option to save or download the file. But mac don't have right click, so how can I do that? or if i see a nice picture, i could just do right hand click and then save picture as.. but how can i do that with Mac?

So please give me some basic tutorial stuff when surfing the net with Mac, thank you, really appreciate your time.

Right click on a Mac can be done in two ways:

1. Hold the CTRL key while you click, this will bring up the context menu and you can 'Download linked file as'
2. Buy a two button mouse and use that. The right click button will work just like it would on a PC. No need to look for Mac specific, just USB. If you have a new desktop Mac, it should have come with a mighty mouse, which essentially has two buttons.

We should have a FAQ thread.

Option 2 above must be switched on in keyboard & mouse preferences. Default behaviour is that the right and left buttons are primary, whereas, you need the right button to be secondary.

So go into system preference, choose keyboard and mouse prefs and then select the mouse tab.
Switch right mouse from primary operation to secondary.

I agree. I suggested it last year sometime, but no-one else seemed interested at the time.

Apple - Support - Switch 101

In particular:

Switch 101: On Windows, I used to...

The above article explains how to right-click as well as lots of other stuff. There is a simpler way to download images though. Just drag them to your desktop or onto any folder in Finder.

You can also just click and drag a photo onto the desktop or a folder.

If you have a new mac with a "Mighty Mouse" you can turn on the right button in the system prefs - under the apple menu.

If you have a laptop you can make the track pad use two fingers to get a right click. Also use it to scroll - very cool!
You can take the dude out of So Cal, but you can't take the dude outta the dude, dude!

Last year when you weren't a mod.

I say just start one. I'd make "First, try to find your answer using the built in Help system." number one on the list.

Fwiw, option-clicking a link will cause the page, file or image that it points to download as well (note, the option key is sometimes labelled alt and it is the one located next to the ctrl or control key)
