If you turn on the Debug menu you can change Safari's user agent (ie. make it pretend to webservers it is another browser like Internet Explorer). But that doesn't change Safari's rendering at all. It's not possible to make Safari render web pages exactly like Internet Explorer or other browsers do.

It's part of the Debug menu, User Agent, in Safari itself. At least it shows that way for me in Safari 3 on Leopard.
[edit] TET you beat me. That's what I get for typing it but letting the reply sit in the Quick Reply box for a few minutes.

You can fake the user agent, but you can't emulate the rendering quirks.

Thanks. I'm going to try it out on a couple of my company sites that require it (changing user agent doesn't help). The installer has been downloading a ton of files -- fonts and exe stuff -- for half an hour already. Dog slow. Seems like it'd just include everything when downloading the installer.

Yes, that's a bit peculiar how the files weren't included with the software. Can't have it all I suppose. Hope it works out for you, but Knowing IE, you'll need more than my good wishes.

I would guess that it doesn't include the files because it doesn't know which version of IE you want, and because you will get the very latest "bottles" or whatever they are called from the Wine/Darwine project whenever you perform an installation. Including the fonts is what slows the download down, without them it goes fairly quickly. Personally, I'm very impressed how this makes using Darwine really easy for the one app I would need it for.
