Not sure if this is a PS, Leopard or combination problem but around 50% of the jpegs I make in PS CS3 are becoming corrupted. The file saves OK but as soon as you try to use it the problems begin.

The main symptom is that the jpeg will not attach to a mail message. It just fails to appear with the message. Then if you try to select the file in the finder (or via any app) the finder quits and restarts but always with the application support folder displayed in a new window.

Strangely Preview seems happy to open these files and once saved back from there they work fine. Opening a misbehaving jpeg in PS and saving as to recreate a new file doesn't sort the problem.

Any ideas, very frustrating having to run jpegs throug preview to get them to mail.

Thanks

Are you using 'Save as…' or 'Save for web & devices…'?

Not quite what you want to hear, but I have CS3 and Leopard and I've had 0 problems with saving JPGs.

Did you try uninstall/reinstall CS3?

Well I've got about a dozen other system weirdness things going on as well now. The jpeg issue has been there ever since I upgraded to Leopard but there's a few recurring problems now that mean I'm going to be wiping the drive and starting from scratch so we'll see what happens then.

Well if you're getting other system weirdness then my recommendation is to backup your data, reformat and reinstall. imho that's the safest approach to remove all corruption. The next option is an archive and install, but if there's some stuff corrupted that's related to your account, you may not be resolving anything.
