Hello,

I bought my Macbook recently and now I have created a site to share my switching experiences.

I have tried to make this site especially useful for finding Windows software equivalents for Mac.

You can visit my site at this adress:

Windows 2 Mac OS X

Hope it helps to fellow switchers...

iPhoto, iWeb (and all the other iLife apps – though I didn't see you mention them) are not built-in. iLife is a commercial software package that is not part of Mac OS X (just happens to be bundled with new Macs).

they came pre-installed with my recently bought leopard macbook, so I think they can be considered built-in from now on.

but anyway I will change the disclaimer from built-in to commercial (built-in with leopard).

you think that's ok?

thanks for the comment.

They're included with the computer, not with the OS. The important distinction is that you don't get new versions of those applications when you get a new version of the OS — you have to buy the new edition of iLife separately if you want it. It's kind of pedantic, though, since I'd say they are built in with the computer.

I see you changed it to "Commercial - bundled with new Macs". That's correct.

I just mentioned it because it causes confusion rather often where some people think they will get the new version of iLife with an OS update.
