Can anyone help please?

My mail crashed and when I relaunched it gave me the option to use new settings or original settings. Thinking original would reset everything I chose new. Now I have lost all my inbox, my password does not work, my email accounts have been deleted and I cannot send or receive mail. Plus I n longer have synch to daylite. I just want to restore original settings I had from 30mins ago, but completely lost as to how to do it. I checked the library and all the inbox messages are there, but I do not know how to get mail to communicate with it.

Sorry if this is very simple. My bro normally takes care of this stuff, but he is away and I am quite computer illiterate.

thanks
Sam

anyone? - I can see the files in user>library>mail, but need to know the process of importing them properly back to the mail app.

When you quit Mail, it should ask you, "Do you wish to use these new settings from now on?" Choose No to that and it should restore your old settings.

If that doesn't work and you don't have a backup of your home directory, there is no way we can help without knowing what email accounts you have. Even then, we obviously won't be able to help you figure out everything..
