Hi

Sometimes when I transfer a CD to iTunes 7 (running on Leopard), the tracks are out of order, or the album is split into several separate entries.

1. Why?
2. Is there any way to consolidate them (with the tracks in the right order)?

Thanks

Make sure your view is set to "sort" by the leftmost triangle thing.
(i.e., not sorted by song name, or time, etc).

Can you be a little more specific about this? When you select all the tracks, and go to the info view, are they all labeled correctly?

Sometimes the online CD database has bad info. It's a volunteer effort and maybe someone did not fill in the album info completely. I get this mostly with older double albums. One of the songs had a typo in the album name.

Aberrant 'Info' seems to be the problem. Two examples.

1. Tracks 2-19 were checked 'Compilation'. Track 1 wasn't--and was allocated its own album. When I checked 'Compilation it migrated back to its correct place.

2. An oddity this one. A classical CD. Movements (and tracks) 1 -5 were split into two albums 1, 3, 4 and 2,5. 'Info' showed under 'Artist' "Casals" on the first album, but "Casals, Serkin" on the second. Odd since Serkin plays on all the tracks.

When I deleted "Serkin", the album reassembled itself correctly.

Thanks for your help

Not sure if this might help (in other ways)... but, do you know about how to "Join CD Tracks" when ripping?

[it's under the Advanced menu... should be some info about it in the iTunes Help menu.]
