The title pretty much says it all - something is failing in the process of cutting text from a MS Word 2008 (Mac) document into Dreamweaver CS3. Nothing gets transferred.

I can cut text from Word and paste into other text editors (BBEdit, TextMate, TextEdit) without any problem... and can then cut and paste from that into DW... but, of course, all formatting information is stripped - which isn't always a bad thing: this is Word, after all...

Cut-and-paste from Word 2004 worked OK. It's a strange thing to have break... and it's odd to me that Word got out of beta with this, given the fact that Dreamweaver is as popular as it is.

Drag it. Or copy to Text Edit and then copy to DW. It's a clipboard bug btw.

I hadn't tried drag and drop...

As I said above, I know I can copy to TextEdit and then to Dreamweaver. It's and unnecessary extra step and it loses all rich-text attributes in the process, which can be a huge pain if there's a lot of that kind of information in the Word document that needs to be carried over into HTML.

I'm just wondering how it's a clipboard bug when it worked OK with Word 2004...

Heard back from Adobe Support... it's a known issue, but no fix will be released in the next few months. The fix will be incorporated in the next release of Dreamweaver.

Yeah, I know they know about the issue... because I reported it to 'em.

The next release of Dreamweaver, huh? I remember back in the olden days when there were substantial interim bugfix releases (and even a few new added features!) between the big major paid upgrades, but in the major bread and butter apps that rarely happens anymore. I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect this will get fixed when I next shell out for Dreamweaver CS4.
