I hope I've got this in the right place... Anyways, I've got quite the collection of music at home on my storage mac, but not so much on my laptop (I've heard them all, they're stale to me, I won't listen to them a whole heck of a lot). Is there anything that's half way decent for sharing my home iTunes collection over the net so I can listen to it on my laptop while at work? I was using some rss app (tune feed RSS?) but it was slow and I didn't much care for it, then there was another one that flat out didn't work. The Squeezebox app (found via osxhints.com) looked promising, but it basically just streamed the songs into one big mp3/m3u type feed, so I'd have to login to the remote machine via VNC or the web interface to skip songs and add/delete songs from a playlist. Any help would be great.

Anyone know if you can access music over "Back to my Mac?" That seems like it would be a great solution, providing it works.

Most home DSL/cable providers don't support the upload bandwidth required to stream audio to another machine anyway. You'd be better off syncing your music library.

I agree with besson. Since you have a laptop just take it home one day and transfer all your music files over. You can do it quickly with a firewire transfer or if you have an available external hard drive then you can load all your files there and play your music off the external drive at work if you don't want to fill up your laptop's internal hard drive.

I may be upgrading the laptops hard drive, and I thought about putting the old one in an external USB case, so I might go that route with the music. If I were to copy it all to the hard drive now I wouldn't have any space left.. lol
