hi all. office2004 does NOT allow for activex controls (e.g. an animated slide using activex) in powerpoint presentations. windows powerpoint DOES allow this, only the mac version does not.

does anyone know if powerpoint 2008 has changed so that one can now include activex in a ppt? thanks.

No. Active X is (and always will be) a Windows-specific technology. There was once a very poorly written, partly functional port for Internet Explorer 4.0 back in the Mac OS 8.6 and 9.x days. You'll never see Active X on Mac OS X. Ever.

(thank god - anybody who insists that users turn on the single biggest security hole on their Windows machines just to use their product deserves to go out of business in a big way.)
