I need to locate two apps ..

1) A program that can join split files (x.001 + x.002, etc.) Freeware is preferable.

2) A program that can catalogue the contents of a large set of CDs. I'd like to be able to search the CDs for a file so I know which one to pull from the archives. I had written something like this for Windows that I've used for about 5 years. I'd like to move this inventory to the Mac, but I'm not quite up to speed with XCode yet to write it. :-(

Thanks in advance.

1. I find MacHacha to be more reliable than Split & Concat.

2. I've tried many catalog apps. Most get bogged down after a while but DiskCatalogMaker remains zippy. It's also free when you buy Toast.

You know ... that's not a bad idea. I need Toast anyway since I've switched to the MBP as my primary machine. (No more Windows based Nero). Not a bad idea at all ...
