Hey. I recently bought final cut express and I'm still getting used to it. Im wondering why I have to render video files when I move the video in the timeline over like 5 seconds. If it's a long video, it takes like 5 minutes everytime i render it. Why is this. I am used to editing with Sony Vegas on a pc and the only time I render is at the end when I'm rendering the file as a mpeg file. Is there a way I can get around this? Am I doing something wrong? Even if there is nothing I can do, is there a way to set something so that it puts render files on an external harddrive? It surely does take up a lot of room. Somebody who knows final cut well, please tell me. And if you have any other good advice about final cut, does hesitate to tell me. Thanks!
