Is there a way to create ISO images within OSX or do I need to purchase 3rd party software?

Thanks for any help.

Mac images are called disk images (.dmg files). They're like ISO 9660s, but better. The ISO image format is an old standard that was created for CD-ROMs. The Mac built-in Mac application that creates disk images is Disk Utility, located in the Utilities folder of /Applications. Alternatively, you can buy Roxio Toast, which also does disk images.
