When using iChat [on Mac.com] with video it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't but using Skype seems to work all the time! Talking to our son in California from the UK often we both get the error message that there is no response to our request.

Any suggestions how to ort this out?

Probably a NAT issue. You could try this post to see if it helps.

I run into the same issue, and have just chosen to go with Skype for all my video chat. It works every time, no hassle.
