OK here's one that has me grinning from ear to ear, but is potentially damaging for my friend. On iChat, you can add your own photos for the custom backgrounds in Video Effects.

In an amusing but childish video chat recently, he put up a background that might be considered offensive in some circles. OK, it was pretty offensive to anyone.

The problem is that there appears to be no way to delete the background, which could be a problem down the line if tech support, wife or colleague stumbles across it at some point in the future.

Anyone got any ideas?

Can you not just replace it with something a little more appropriate?

What if he selects that background and then clicks the various menus? Maybe there's a new option that was previously grayed out that'll let him delete the unwanted background.

None that I could find. Delete & Cut don't work for me. There is also a Reset Background but that just asks you to step out of the frame to get the background read for the iSight. iChat Help doesn't seem to list anything.

So, if you want to reset it to the original quit iChat and go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iChat/EffectsPickerCache and delete (move to trash): user backdrop 1.effectsPickerCache(or whatever the custom number is for the effect you want to delete).

Reopen iChat and that effect should be reset to default grey.
