I discovered a bug in calculator.app, it displays numbers between 0 and negative 1 as positive numbers. For example, entering the equation (-1)/4 gives an answer of 0.25 instead of -0.25. Nor can you directly enter the number -0.25 or any other number between 0 and -1.
Has this already been posted? If not, how do you report the problem to Apple? Also, how do you report requests or suggestions to Apple?

It works for me in Tiger. I'll try Leopard when I get home. Anyway, Apple has a Mac OS X feedback page where you can submit bug reports.

Yes, but you're using a program called "Rechner," which almost looks like "Calculator," but it can't be the same thing since it has a different name.
Also, there's a comma where the decimal point should be. Clearly not the same app the OP is talking about.

I forgot to mention that I'm using Calculator v4.2 with MacOS 10.5.2 on a 2.4GHz, 24 inch, iMac.

I just noticed that the minus sign disappears when I have Show Separators checked in the View menu.

It's a display glitch only, when Show Separators is on. Turn it off, the minus sign comes back. Turn it on, the minus sign goes away.
But, when separators are on and you do (-1)/4 and then add 1 to it, the answer is 0.75, which is what you would expect.
So, display glitch only. Submit a bug report.

I can reproduce this as well. I wouldn't call this display glitch "only". Calculator reports the wrong result which is a serious error.

It reports the wrong result, but internally the number is still negative, as demonstrated by adding 1 to it. If it were more than a display glitch, the result would be 1.25, not 0.75.
The fix, or workaround, for now is to turn off "Show Separators"

I understand it's a display glitch. I just don't agree on the "only". Reporting the wrong result is a serious error regardless of the reason.
