Unless you can get access to his iMac and install some bandwidth throttling software I see no way (plus that's not the right thing to do). Talk to him.

It might be worthwhile to upgrade to a router that supports bandwidth throttling. I've read that some 3rd-party firmware for certain Linksys models can do this.

Thanks for the suggestions!

We have tried to talk to him with out saying "you look at too much porn and our internet suffers" but he is a tad slow and doesnt pick up on it- but its far from a small addiction i would say- but i digress. I'm going to look into the software link you sent. We will see what happens!

Who is paying for the internet ?
Do you all share the cost ?

That should determine how you proceed, and if you can pressure him into accepting a fix or throttling software.
