How do I export my Entourage emails to an external drive?

I'm running Entourage on OS 10.4. Just yesterday bought my first external hard drive, a Western Digital My Book Essential Edition, 160GB.
At least for now, I'm doing well enough dragging and dropping documents and photos that I want to back up into the exernal drive. How I save my thousands of emails from the past several years is less simple. I know there must be a fairly simple function in Entourage to export my mailboxes, but I can't come up with anything when I search the Help menus.

I must be missing something - why doesn't file - export do this for you?

Entourage stores everything as a single database. Look in Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities/Main Identity/ [or whatever you call your identity]. Just copy that whole folder. Zip it if you want.
It'll be in the same path (sans '2008', maybe '2004' in place) if you're using Office 2004. I use 2008.

Ah, thanks, Cold Warrior! As the kids like to say these days, you are the man. Or woman, although somehow your screenname doesn't strike me as... never mind.
pcryan5 - good question. Under "File" all I find is "Export Contacts." Which doesn't sound like what I want. But I'm all thumbs with computers. I'll be around here a little the next few days as I try to figure out how to use this new drive.

No problem. You can also back up individual messages (or chuncks of msgs) by selecting them in Entourage's window and dragging to a folder or the desktop. It'll create a .eml file. Useful for sending emails to someone as an attachment.
