I have a 24” Intel Core 2 Duo iMac (10.5.2) and an old Graphite Base Station.

My iMac came with Airport Utility 5.3.1.

I also have a G4/PPC DP-800 (10.4.11) that now has AU 4.2.5 installed.

If I understand things correctly, there is no need to be able to Administer the old base from both my machines, but is just a convenience.

Is that correct, and do you think it is wise to additionally install v4.2.5 on my iMac? Just in case the PPC fails or whatever...

Perhaps the question really is whether v4.2.5 and v5.3.1 can or should live together in harmony on the same machine. Waddya think?

I have a graphite APBS in the closet that I sometimes set up for small projects and thus keep 4.2.5 and 5.3.1 on my computer. Both work just fine.
