I had played with an earlier beta. I was using a WACOM tablet to draw notes and diagrams on an overhead for a class that I was teaching. It was VERY nice.

It looks like it's come even further. I'm going to have to put this product in my "must buy" category.

I was thinking about it. I'm waiting for the app to be out of Beta, then I'll have a look at it again.

I'm wondering why the indexing of text inside pictures only takes place on the web-server? I thought an earlier beta did that locally.

I'm still waiting for the invitation to get an account so I can sync to the web and take advantage of this feature. Also: The web-clipping only works with the web-version of the product. This might be ok ... I'm reserving judgement until I see it in action.

I've been using Google Notebook but I can already see that Evernote is the next generation for true mind-extension.

I've got beta invites available, PM me if you'd like to try it out.

I've got an account, but so far I am not really using it. Maybe when I am next researching something.

Thanks for the invite rogermugs, seems the beta invite I signed up for myself reached me first though.

Stec, you might want to review the signature guidelines.

You can't even send MMS to e-mail addresses without a GPRS plan (no prepay!) in this ass backwards country. Grrrr. Now I'm debating whether to go on a plan or to hold out for the iPhone (and it's inevitable better plan to go along with it).

I signed up on the "official" closed beta and received my invitation just a few hours later.

It's a fascinating concept and I really like how painless the OCR works, but I'm not a huge fan of the current "cloud-computing" movement and having to store all of my data on a remote server that I have zero control over.
I would definitely use the application if it was completely local (like Yojimbo for example), but as it is... no thanks, I'll pass due to privacy concerns.

The Mac OS X client also has some quirks (Drag&Drop doesn't work in the main window for example) but it's closed beta so I'm confident that this will be fixed soon.

Yeah, the Mac OS X client has beta written all over it. The menu doesn't launch automatically. The program launches every time you clip into it. You have to choose your own fonts to even make the interface more mac like (the defaults are all wrong). Over all I love the concept. The cloud is necessary for it to be a true external brain. One you can access anywhere, not just tied to your computer. I would not use it at all if that was the case.

Between this and Plaxo I might never have to remember anything ever again
