Well I took the leap of faith and finally bought myself a Macbook Pro (refurbished 2.5 Ghz) here in Japan. It's replacing an old Dell Inspiron 8600 that I have used daily for the past 6 years (I think). Needless to say, Leopard and XP are different. I have been searching the forums and recently bought David Pogue's Mac OS X - The Missing Manual. Though insightful, I still do have some unanswered questions;
How do you print only a section of a page? In XP you can print the highlighted section of a page.
I do wish that there were a 'Mac beginner's section in the forums.
Thanks in advance.

It would depend upon the application, but you should be able to copy and paste the selection of any document into a new document and then print that. Maybe not ideal, but works.

That's an excellent question. There should be right-click print functionality when there is a text block highlighted. As dimmer says, you can copy-and-paste text into the TextEdit application and print from there.
You could also do a cmd-shft-4 crop tool to clip a picture, and print that picture file from the Finder.
Others?

I tried right clicking but to no avail. There is no print option. So... am I to understand that in Safari (unlike IE) I cannot simply highlight a section and print??

Yeah poked around and didn't find it in Safari for both Mac and Windows. Send a feature request!
In a meantime, you could try brassplayersrock's suggestion of Firefox, or simply copy the chunk of text to TextEdit or your favourite editor
Welcome to the Mac! I certainly hope you have a great time
