I have a network via cable which has been working just fine - and fast. Now the Power Mac on the system is painfully slow loading pages in Safari and download messages in Mail. Other computers on the network [two iMacs and a MacBook Pro] are still working at fast speeds as previously.

I assume it must be a software problem of some sort but haven't been able to sort it out despite emptying caches and history and using Safari Speed. What should I try next? Would appreciate any ideas to be for non expert users; am not aware of having changed any settings to have caused this glitch!
