Hello,
I used Migration Assistant to move from a dual G4 to a Mac Pro, and now Office is broken. The icons for the programs look a terminal window, the kind says "Unix Executable File", and when I try to launch the apps, a terminal window opens.

Thanks for any help ,

Steve

Put your G4 in Firewire target disk mode, connect to your Mac Pro, and transfer Office that way. Just drag its folder over.

Thanks, it worked. I'd still like to know why it happened.

Probably the resource forks got stripped off somehow, although I'm not sure why that would happen.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Migration Assistant is rarely a good idea, doubly so PPC->Intel.
