MS Office 2004 running on an Intel iMac running OS 10.4.11.

Each of the four Office apps crashes when initiating a print to a BizHub printer. Never get the print dialog. Shows "not responding" in Force Quit window within 20 seconds. Doesn't matter what document or email is being printed. Non-Microsoft apps can print fine to this printer.

What HASN'T fixed it
1) clearing Office font cache & all font caches with Onyx
2) removing all Office-related prefs (both the com.microsoft.x files and the contents of ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft )
3) turning off ALL fonts except for /System/Library/Fonts
4) updating Office from 11.3.5 to 11.4.2
5) trashing and recreating the print queue
6) repairing permissions

Narrowing down the problem:

1) The printer is a Konica Minolta BizHub with a Fiery in front. Have the correct PPD installed, which works fine from other Macs printing from Office.
2) When printing to another network printer, Office prints fine.
3) When printing from a "test" account, printing from Office prints fine.

I'm out of ideas. What am I missing?

Try moving your entire Preferences folder to the desktop temporarily, then open up Word and try printing. That would at least eliminate the possibility that a preference file is corrupted (Printer, System, or Office.)

I had the same problem, it's a Rosetta bug... upgrade to Office 2008 or iWork '08.

You may have luck in some applications by going to Print Preview and then hitting the dialog-less print button from there.
