I got my new macbook just when the whole 7.4 problems arose. My buddys computer couldn't play all types if files. I'm still running 7.2.1 on mine. Siftware update just popped up with 7.4.5 and was curious if all the problems were solved and its safe to update.
Thanks

I'm just a casual user so my input won't mean much probably, but I've had 0 issues with Quicktime 7.4.5.

I'm not a casual user and I've had no problems with any updates of any sort from Apple. Not since I started using Macs back at 8.1.

To those who have had problems with Quicktime updates, are you happy with latest update? have you had any problems with 7.4.5 conflicting with any other quicktime plugins/components?

I don't recall hearing about any problems, and I haven't had any.

look i appreciate that at least someone is answering but please only answer if you had problems and i guess if they are fixable. telling me "mine always worked" doesnt help as i know others haven't worked.
i dont have a macfixit account so i cant look/post a link but there was something about having to downgrade which i'd rather not spent the time doing.

I haven’t applied the latest QT update yet, but was holding off on the previous one after downgrading due to playback problems. Eventually, I did apply the update and things worked fine, except for movie playback in browsers, for which there was an easily googlable fix consisting of deleting one file.
