I've recently upgraded GC 6..0.4 to v 6.1

I did not change any settings.
When I convert jpg's from say 1mb down to 300k, it works fine.
It also opens OK.
Since upgrading to v6.1, whenever I open the 300k files in the viewer or slideshow, the files go back to 1mb ish.
Not quite same size as before, but close.
Can you explain why ? Solution found...see next post.
I'm sure this didn't happen in older versions of GC
Unless I've somehow modified a setting I can't see what I've done
I've just reloaded v 6.0.4, in viewer and slideshow, it does also increase filesize, but only slightly, to around 400kb !!!
That is with just opening 6.0.4, and not modifying any settings at all.

Solution found.

I was able to find the solution.
As default v6.1 adds large icons to > 10.4 and 10.5.2, which increases file size quite a bit.

Unclick these options, now back to a small increase in file size upon opening.
