Does anyone know why my new MacBook OS 10.5 won't cooperate with Pocket Mac?

I've successfully downloaded the newest version of Pocket Mac v.4 and the driver update. But when I restart the computer and open Pocket Mac Sync Manager and
check the "about Sync Manager" I still see the original version 1.0?!

Why isn't the newer version there if I got "install was successful-restart your
computer" ?

Also, I just migrated my ibook to my new macbook a couple of days ago and Pocket Mac worked just great when syncing to my Blackberry Curve 8310 from the good old ibook.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

I'd just totally remove PocketMac. Completely. All files. Then reboot. Then reinstall.

Alex,

Thanks for being there for this. This has sucked the life out of my morning.

Will Uninstall PocketMac do what you say to do--remove, completely, all files? Or is there more I should do or know about?

Gratefully,

ClaraT

According to what I read on this forum, PocketMac will show version 1.0, even if it's 4.0.

Just FYI.

Which PocketMac program are you using? I'm still waiting for them to release Leopard support for PocketMac for PocketPC 2002/2003. Not patiently waiting, just waiting.

It says it's Version 1.0.9, but perhaps it is 4.0?!

Strangely, while downloading a printer driver my macbook went through some weird gyrations, rebooted with the colorful screen and a loading window in progress. I had not yet done an uninstall, then reinstall of Pocket Mac as advised here but had a hunch that maybe this strange restart might have done something to now make Pocket Mac work.

So I plugged in the usb and got a "connected and charging symbol." Then I sync'd and viola! it worked. That's when I checked to see if it was Version 4.0 but not it's 1.0.9.

Given the version numbers I would say ClaraT is talking about RIM's free PocketMac SyncManager. I fail to see RIM writing an app aimed not to BlackBerry but PocketPC

BlackBerry - BlackBerry for Mac

Oh it's there, but it doesn't support Leopard yet. Which sucks because now I have to boot into Windows to do any updating or backing up of my handheld... And yes I've tried; it just doesn't work under Leopard.
