I have three web based email accounts with different hosts. I am unable to attach any documents created in Pages. Does anybody know why or how to correct the problem? I can attach practically everything else... Word docs, pdf files, etc. All my Pages docs are grayed out.

They probably aren't recognized. If you need to keep them in the Pages format, create a folder and throw them in there. Then, control-click on the folder and create an archive of it (compress if you're on Leopard). You'll be left with a .zip file which may be easier for you.

Pages files aren't files, they're packages. You can't attach a package or folder. Zip the Pages "file" first, then you'll be able to attach it.

A really dumb move when creating a new format from scratch... adding steps to every workflow around it.

Not really. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one workflow to which it adds a step: submitting a Web form.

I don't think we can blame the file format but this is also a pain in the arse in Filemaker. I use it to safe documents within database fields and, of course, packages can't be placed in the field. This means zipping or using Word file format. Shame that Apple's own database program doesn't just work nicely with Pages files.

Eh, Filemaker is just a subsidiary of Apple, Apple (to my knowledge) doesn't have it's own developers working on Filemaker.

Apple owns Filemaker. Do you think they have no input into its features? I know it is a cross platform program. I would still expect that Filemaker has good access to Apple's own developers to ensure that it works well with the OS. Shame this isn't true. Filemaker 9 still doesn't work very well with Spaces in 10.5.

I believe Apple has input, which is why Bento was created.
