Embarrassing as it is to ask...

I have two Sent folders in my IMAP Mail:
1. In the left most pane is a Header called “MAILBOXES”. Subordinate to that are three icons: Inbox, Sent, and Trash.
2. I also have a Header in the left pane called “Harv’s EMAIL”. Within that are five normal blue folders, including one called Sent Items.

Both the “Sent Icon” and “Sent Items” contain identical emails.

I presume one of them is storing my sent items on my computer and the other is storing the sent emails on the host’s server.

But I do not know which is which and so am uncertain re which may be emptied.

Thoughts, suggestions, and (even) musings most welcome.

Click on the folder called Sent Items. Go to Mailboxes in the menubar and click on "Use this mailbox for..." and click on Sent. This may help.

Many thanks for the prompt reply. Indeed it is appreciated. But as do not need (I think) this mail box for Drafts, Sent, Trash, or Junk, are there any downsides to merely deleting this blue folder?

No downsides to deleting it, but it may create itself in the future, depending on what caused it in the first place.
