One of the major shortcomings of Firefox 2 was that it didn't support the adobe reader plug-in. There was/is a PDF reader plug-in from Schubert that works on Power PC Macs, but not Intel Macs. On those you have to download PDFs and then open them with a separate app. The Adobe plug-in has worked fine with the Windows version of Firefox for a long time.

Since everything these days is a pdf, this has been a major irritant for me.

Before I waste a lot of time with it, does anybody know for sure if they've fixed this problem?

Here's the extension you need; it was just released a couple days ago.
