I'm trying to use sshfs + macfuse from google code. It worked fine for me in the past with Tiger running on a PPC machine...

Now I have Leopard running on Intel and after entering the password for the remote machine user I want to mount via sshfs, nothing appears to happen. The password dialog just goes away but then no mount shows up as an icon on the desktop. I have tried accessing different remote servers too (running freebsd and debian). I can use ssh and scp from a command line to get to these same machines.

As a side note, I think they should have better called it scpfs instead but whatever. Its cool when it works

Has anyone dealt with this? Please advise.

What is being logged to your console? Where is the share being mounted? What are the permissions on this directory?

Did you make sure you installed the Leopard version? I know it works, but there is a leopard specific version of MacFUSE for Leopard...

besson3c: IC now, it seems to be actually mounting the remote machine properly under: /Volumes/sekai

("sekai" = remote machine name)

Permissions are: drwxr-xr-x (my user who mounted the remote machine is the owner)

"open /Volumes/sekai" works to open it in a finder window. If only the mounted folder would show up automatically on my desktop... Fyi the mount does not show up in the Finder sidebar either. Normally mounts do show up in both places, I have not found any other exceptions besides sshfs. Any ideas would be appreciated.

In the console there are just a few depreciated calls related to sshfs like this one...

CPSGetProcessInfo(): This call is deprecated and should not be called anymore.

King Bob On The Cob: yes, I am sure I installed "MacFUSE-Core-10.5-1.5.1.dmg"

Cheers!

Oops, problem solved... under Finder prefs > General, there is a checkbox to show 'connected servers' on the desktop.

Once I realized it was just not showing up on the desktop, I figured its likely not sshfs but something OS X related so I did some more digging and found it. Now I feel like a DUNCE!

Btw, "Connected servers" is selected under Finder Prefs > Sidebar options too, but I do not see the mounted folder in the sidebar. Its under a category called "Shared", all options are checked in this category in Prefs but none of them display in the Finder Sidebar. Strange.

Thanks for your help! If there are any ideas about the Sidebar mount missing, I would be interested in fixing that too but its like a P4 now.
