IPHOTO 8: opening movies from previous versions

We recently upgraded to IPHOTO 8, and are having a problem with opening movies, which were imported into previous versions of IPHOTO, with QUICKTIME. It seems that the "pointer" has been lost, and although we can find the movies on the harddrive, and we can view the movie first screen in IPHOTO, they cannot be opened directly from IPHOTO.

Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thanks.
