Despite having mobile me for past week or so. I have yet to really dig into it and have a look around. I am completely fed up with iWeb and I want to be able to have full control of my site. I like to use Textmate to do so. I know with .Mac I could upload my own .html files, but I am not seeing this option with MobileMe.

Is this possible to do? I just want to be able to upload my own html files to my MobileMe account and view them by going to a link. Sorry if this has been answered before, I looked around and found nothing same with google.

Can MobileMe no longer mount your directory on your desktop via WebDav?

My suggestion would be to avoid uploading HTML as well, as that is also a somewhat outdated mode of web design as well (although it is acceptable for small sites), and focus on finding a good CMS that you like, and coming up with your own theme to use it. I would suggest WordPress.

HTML is perfectly fine for what it does. If you want a dynamic site, straight HTML is not a great choice. Always preferring a CMS over straight HTML reminds me of Tim Allen's character on Home Improvement, who would always find a way to make any task require power tools.

That's quite true, but if you are starting from square one and are moving off of iWeb to a text editor/hand coding, why not move to a CMS? Using the TinyMCE WYSIWYG toolbar will help with basic text formatting of content from anywhere you have access to a web browser, and it can provide a great reference for learning the formatting tags, since you can also opt to skip using TinyMCE in a tool such as WordPress.
