How can I save something in Preview?
I have downloaded something, but the save buttons are greyed out.
Help, please.

If you downloaded something, it's already "saved", isn't it?

Well, you have me confused. Preview doesn't have a Save button (in the toolbar). All you need to do is select the File menu. The options for saving are there.

Did you MAKE CHANGES to the document? Because IF NOT, the document is ALREADY SAVED!

Does anyone know why it's often, but not always, impossible to save filled out PDF forms? Is it an option in Acrobat to prevent saving?

People who create form fillable PDFs can have it non-savable or savable. It depends on how it's created. I don't know if it costs extra to enable saving, or if the creators just don't know any better. It's really frustrating to get a non-savable form.
