I have several made several movies over the past few years using iMovie. After i burned them with iDVD, i deleted the videos off my computer to free up room.

Big mistake. I want to get these videos back onto my computer.
What's the best way to import them without reducing video quality.....but also maintaining the clips, cuts, edits and stuff like that.
I know i can import the .mp4 movie....but i would like to be able to re-edit the clips at a future date too.

The clips, cuts, edits, etc are gone. All you've got is what you see when you put the DVD into a DVD player.

Rip with MacTheRipper to preserve quality and the menus/chapters. Unless you use something more capable than iMovie, you'll have to convert and reduce the quality at least twice (once to get in, once to get out) to get back to a file for distribution. MPEG Streamclip comes to mind.

How does MediaFork and Visual Hub compare to MacTheRipper? Also, are MediaFork and Handbrake the same? I thought one was discontinued but i'm not sure which. What do you all recommend?
