All I want is to be able to sync calendar events across my machines. From my main mac onto my phone and back again seems to be fine, but my other laptop and my mini are a right pain.
I have set calendars on my phone to sync all events since I want to keep events older than 30 days on my macs but mobile me seems to want otherwise. I have reset data from mobile me to the other machines several times and each tiome syncing seems to work OK for a few days then BAM back to sync telling me that the next sync will delete all data over 30 days old.
Please, make it stop!!

You said you set your mobile devices to keep events older than 30 days, but did you set your iCals on your desktop machines to do the same?

I've been looking like mad for that option but the sync control panel only says that this detail is managed by mobile me. I can't find any settings in ical itself.

Been there done that. I have that option unchecked since that would infer NOT to delete events after xx days. Checking it will infact SET a delete date, which is what I want to avoid.

Oops sorry miss read that totally! In iCal when you create an event or after you can edit it by clicking on the event, appointment etc by Get-info in the pop-up window click edit, in the list you'll see "repeat" you can select never, daily, monthly & yearly. Once this is done you'll see an extra item End options; Never, After & End on Date
If you haven't done so all ready... I don't see how else to help within MobileMe there isn't much of a choice that I've seen so far.
Ok just checked further when creating an event within MobileMe via Dragging to set it's place in date-time then double -click it
you'll get a window slide-out to edit the data here you can select the Repeat; Never, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly & Custom hope this helps.

sorry I think you might have the wrong end of the stick. I don't want to repeat events into the future I want to stop mobile me deleting events more than 30 days old whenever my mac syncs. On my main laptop it never asks and I have cal events going back a year or so, however my other two macs can no longer sync since they insist that they are going to delete events older than 30 days, which will then propigate to my main mac loosing all my appointment data.
I have n idea why my main Mac and mobile me are happy to sync old er events while the other two are not. I can't see any disparate settings on the other two Macs.
