I keep my 30" ACD at its highest resolution. Occasionally, I will want to sit across the room to watch a DVD. I've downloaded a nifty app on my iPhone that lets the iPhone operate as a remote trackpad and keyboard. The setup works great and I love it except for one issue: I can't see the full screen interface/controls for the DVD Player on my screen form across the room because they are too small. If there a way to make them bigger so that I can see the play/pause, menu, subtitle, and other "buttons"? (I figured out that changing the screen resolution will do this, but I really don't want to go this route because it is a nuisance to change it every time you want to watch a movie and because it resizes and rearranges the positions of all my windows.)

Just use Front Row (cmd-Esc).

Steve - Thanks for the suggestion.

I should have stated in the OP that Front Row is not an option for me.

The reason? My speakers are connected to my MP via optical/digital. As such, I am completely unable to remotely control the volume of my speakers in Front Row since:

a) OSX will not let a user control the "system" volume while using digital out (and I contend there is a good reason for this) -- I can only control the volume of my speakers or the "software/application" volume made available within individual applications.

b) Unlike DVD Player.app, Front Row has no volume control separate from the "system" volume. Controlling the volume from FR necessarily controls the system volume, which I cannot control for the reason stated under a). In my opinion, there is no good reason for this... users should be able to choose how to control the volume from within FR, but, alas, I doubt Apple is going to change their software in this manner anytime soon, if at all, and, well, I digress.

c) My speakers have no remote control (Edirol MA-15Ds). Since the whole point is to facilitate my being able to remotely control the computer, I really need to be able to control the volume software-wise. (I'm trying to avoid having to buy new speakers that would have a remote. For one, I don't want to spend the money. Secondly, I don't want to have to deal with another remote. I like the streamlined nature of my iPhone doubling as my remote.)

What I was hoping for was a suggestion as to resizing the controls - I'm no computer programmer but I think I could hold my own if given decent instructions. If anyone has any other ideas I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

Actually, Steve, your suggestions opens another door...

If there is a way to detach FR from the system volume so that I can control it like an application's volume, I'd be open to that.
